NEW DELHI (India CSR): Kuantum Papers Limited, a front-runner in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), demonstrates its unwavering commitment to societal betterment. In the fiscal year, the company has strategically allocated Rs. 33.38 Lakhs towards impactful CSR initiatives, slightly exceeding its planned budget of Rs. 33.32 Lakhs. Additionally, a carryover amount of Rs. 132.39 Lakhs from the previous year has been diligently utilized for ongoing projects.

Kuantum Papers Limited is a leading paper manufacturing company in India, renowned for its high-quality products and sustainable practices. Committed to environmental stewardship and community development, the company actively engages in impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, focusing on education, health, and rural development.

Strategic Leadership for Maximum Impact

The CSR Committee at Kuantum Papers, chaired by Pavan Khaitan, ensures that every endeavor aligns with the company’s ethos of responsible corporate conduct. With active participation from committee members like Drishinder Singh Sandhawalia and Shireen Sethi, the team ensures effective execution and monitoring of CSR activities.

Focused Areas for Community Upliftment

Kuantum Papers focuses on three pivotal areas: Education, Health, and Rural Development. The company believes that investing in these sectors creates a ripple effect of positive change, benefiting society at large.

CSR Spending Overview for Financial Year 2022-23

The total amount required to be spent by the Company on CSR was Rs. 33.32 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2022-23. This requirement was based on 2% of the average net profit of the company as per Section 135 (5) of the Companies Act, 2013. The amount actually spent during the year under report was Rs. 33.38 Lakhs for the activities as per Schedule VII.

Utilization of Unspent CSR Funds from FY 2021-22

The Company had transferred a sum of INR 134.39 Lakhs to the unspent CSR account in the FY 2021-22. Out of this, it had already spent an amount of Rs. 2.00 Lakhs in the same year. Now, the Company has spent the balance amount of Rs. 132.39 Lakhs lying in the unspent CSR account during the year under report.

executed four CSR projects with a total
outlay of INR 33.38 lakhs. These projects
encompass education promotion, rural
development through sewer pipe lines
and street construction, and interlock
work. We make certain that project
selection is done in collaboration with
the community and development
partners, encouraging participatory
development and ensuring the success
and acceptability of our efforts.”

Four Decades of Growth and Innovation in Paper Manufacturing

Kuantum Papers Limited, established in 1980 in Saila Khurd, District Hoshiarpur, Punjab, specializes in the production of Writing & Printing, Copier, and Specialty papers, primarily using agro and wood-based materials. Over the past four decades, the company has experienced significant growth, expanding its initial production capacity of 30 TPD (tonnes per day) to 450 TPD. This expansion reflects the company’s consistent efforts towards enhancing its production capabilities.

The company is situated near the Shivalik range, which provides access to a variety of agro residues, wild vegetation, and wood raw materials. This strategic location supports the manufacturing of high-quality paper products. Kuantum Papers has also developed fully backward integrated manufacturing facilities, which contributes to greater operational efficiency and a diverse range of product offerings.

Embracing Sustainability and Innovation

Kuantum Papers Limited, a renowned name in the paper manufacturing industry, offers an extensive range of writing and printing papers used in various applications such as books, notebooks, annual reports, directories, account books, envelopes, diaries, calendars, and stationery. The company also prides itself on producing a diverse array of specialty products like thermal paper, bond paper, parchment paper, azurelaid paper, cartridge paper, colored paper, ledger paper, and stiffener paper.

Focused on environmental stewardship, Kuantum Papers has developed specialty products including cupstock, straw base paper, and paper carrybags. These innovations are aimed at reducing reliance on single-use plastics, thereby promoting a more sustainable future.

In a commitment to social and environmental responsibility, the company has launched a comprehensive social farm forestry initiative. This initiative involves the development of wood plantations with the goal of planting 1 crore saplings over the next five years. Additionally, water recycling is a priority in their operations, significantly reducing their ecological footprint.
