NEW DELHI (India CSR): In India, access to basic needs like food, healthcare, education, and workplace safety continues to shape the quality of life for millions, especially in underserved communities. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives often play a key role in addressing these gaps. According to KEI’s annual report, KEI Industries Limited has taken a structured approach to its social commitments in the financial year 2024-25. The company reported CSR spending of around Rs 12.91 crore during the year, meeting and slightly exceeding its statutory requirement. This investment was directed across several key areas, including healthcare infrastructure, hunger relief, education, and worker safety. The report highlights that KEI Industries focused on both immediate support, such as food distribution and safety kits, and long-term initiatives like healthcare facilities. Through these efforts, KEI Industries aimed to create a measurable impact while aligning its CSR strategy with broader social and developmental needs.

In addition, safety kits, including helmets and other protective equipment, were distributed. According to the report, around Rs 87 lakh was spent on these initiatives.

This program reflects a focus on worker welfare, especially for individuals who play a critical role in infrastructure but often lack social protection.

Hunger Relief and Nutrition Support

Hunger relief emerged as one of the largest areas of CSR spending. According to the annual report, KEI Industries partnered with organizations such as ISKCON to provide meals to underprivileged communities.

The report highlights that around Rs 3.05 crore was allocated toward food distribution programs, benefiting over 14 lakh individuals. These initiatives aimed to address hunger and improve nutritional support for vulnerable populations.

Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure

Healthcare was another major focus area of CSR spending. According to the annual report, KEI Industries supported infrastructure development to improve access to medical services.

One of the key projects includes support for a large accommodation facility near AIIMS Rishikesh. This facility provides affordable lodging for families of patients traveling for treatment.

The report highlights that the facility has a capacity of over 400 beds and has maintained high occupancy levels, indicating strong demand.

In addition, KEI Industries contributed around Rs 4.10 crore toward setting up a cardiac care unit (Cath Lab) at a hospital in Uttarakhand. This facility is expected to improve access to specialized treatment in the region.

These initiatives indicate a focus on both direct healthcare services and supporting infrastructure.

The report states that around Rs 50 lakh was spent on initiatives benefiting approximately 4,000 individuals. These programs focused on providing educational support to underserved communities.

In addition, KEI Industries supported special education initiatives for children with disabilities. Funding was provided to organizations working with children with conditions such as autism and cerebral palsy.

The report highlights that these initiatives aim to create inclusive learning opportunities and improve long-term outcomes.

Environmental Sustainability Efforts

Environmental sustainability also formed part of KEI Industries Limited’s CSR activities. According to the annual report, KEI Industries undertook initiatives aimed at reducing its environmental impact.

These included tree plantation drives and efforts to increase the use of renewable energy. The report states that KEI Industries generated over 42 lakh units of renewable energy during the year.

Additionally, measures were taken to reduce carbon emissions and promote energy efficiency across operations.

Such initiatives reflect a broader commitment to environmental responsibility.

Animal Welfare and Community Support

Apart from human-focused initiatives, KEI Industries also supported animal welfare programs. According to the report, funding was provided to organizations involved in the care of animals, including cows.

These initiatives, though smaller in scale, reflect a holistic approach to CSR.

The report also highlights contributions to community welfare programs, including sanitation and local infrastructure support in certain areas.

Governance and CSR Oversight

CSR activities at KEI Industries are overseen by a dedicated CSR Committee. According to the annual report, the committee is responsible for planning, monitoring, and reviewing CSR initiatives.

The report states that all CSR spending was carried out in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Detailed disclosures on project areas and expenditure have been provided to ensure transparency.

KEI Industries has also aligned its CSR activities with broader social and environmental goals.
