He is revered for his sharp technical skills and applicational knowledge towards Management System Certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 450001, ISO 22000, ISO 27001, ISO 50001 among others) and Climate Change Service Activities involving deep hands-on knowledge of all sectoral scopes of prominent Green House Gas Programs such as the CDM, Gold Standard for Global Goals (GS4GG), VCS, CCB (Climate, Community & Biodiversity), SD Vista, Puro Earth, Global Carbon Council, BioCarbon Standard, Social Carbon, Open Forest Protocol, JAZ-ANZ, JCM, EIAC, NABCB, CERCARBONO, UCR, Plan VIVO, ICR, ISOMETRIC, Global Emission Standard, and COLCX among others. 

Complying with his ethos “Service is as good as the competence of the Service Provider”, Goyal has never settled for anything less than perfect as he built his Global Team from strength to strength. It is under his able Leadership and Guidance that KBS Certification Services Limited became the first Indian Designated Operational Entity under the UNFCCC back in 2011. There has been no looking back ever since. The Organization has also been among the first to be approved by Gold Standard and Verra as Validation and Verification Body. Till date the Organization has validated and verified over 2500 Carbon Projects across 40 countries. In fact, as per the data released by UNFCCC, in the year 2019-2020 KBS outranked all other DOEs successfully undertaking the highest number of total Verification/Validation Project Activities/ Programme of Activities despite the rush owing to expiration of Commitment Period 2 for Clean Development Mechanism while also grappling with serious limitations posed by COVID 19 pandemic. This is a testament to the Organization’s efficacy and tenacity under Kaushal Goyal’s aegis.

Goyal sits on the Climate Action and Sustainability Committees of several Regional, National and International Multilateral Bodies. He has conducted trainings on topics related to Energy Efficiency, Carbon Footprint Mitigation and Sustainable Development at myriad National and International Institutions and Organizations of repute like the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai, Addis Ababa University Group of Professors and Lecturers among several others.
