MUMBAI: In keeping with the nation-wide ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign, Kalpataru Group has joined hands with Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) in a cleanliness drive in the city. The cleanliness drive called “Majhe Sunder Thane” (My City Clean City) is one such initiative taken by Kalpataru and TMC as part of the Swachh Bharat campaign, said a release on Saturday.
The cleanliness drive would cover malls, roads, railway stations, residential societies, private offices and slums. Volunteers from the Kalpataru Group, including Kalpataru Ltd and KORUM Mall, along with TMC, will participate in the clean-up drive on October 23 from 8 am to 10 am, the release said.
The cleanliness drive will take place on the service road outside KORUM Mall and within the society premises of Siddhachal, Thane. This is the third consecutive year for KORUM’s effort in the clean-up drive. Previously, KORUM Mall has pledged over 2300 hours to the cleaning and maintenance of a TMC School, which it adopted since the start of the ‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyan’ in 2014, the release said.
Besides this, as a part of larger social initiatives, Kalpataru Group recently adopted four suburban railway stations — Thane Mulund, Santacruz and Goregaon — under the theme “Hamara Station Hamari Shaan” to beautify them.
Kalpatru Employees with other volunteers were engaged in the cleaning and painting of booking windows, platform entrances, railings and foot over-bridges to transform the look and feel of these stations, the release said.
