MUMBAI: Hyderabad’s finest business park Mindspace, an offering from India’s leading real estate developer – K Raheja Corp, has remained committed over the years to providing Hyderabad with the best working environment, for its best IT professionals. In continuation of its endeavour to offer quality services, Mindspace extends its initiative to providing quality education for children belonging to very low income groups. Bringing on board an extremely credible specialist, Mindspace partners with the NGO, Teach for India and launches its CSR project christened ‘Teaching Tree’. The initiative begins with Hyderabad and Mumbai and will extend to other geographies over a period of time.

Mindspace has already positively influenced the lives of approximately 9200 children since April 2015 and remains committed to growing these numbers. Through the association, Teaching Tree will further build on the noble work undertaken by Teach for India in the domain of education.

Funds provided by Mindspace, will be used to train school teachers to deliver better education through improved teaching techniques, setting up of a library and exposure of the students to technology in specially selected schools catering to very poor children. While financial assistance becomes a natural deliverable, Mindspace is going the extra mile to make this more inclusive and galvanize its own employees and clients to join the initiative and contribute towards making the difference.

To ensure a larger corporate community participation, Mindspace has shortlisted a series of initiatives which call for clients to come forward in support of the cause. Some of these include: a book collection drive, an art festival where the children will display their work for sale, an old computer collection drive to aid the set-up of a computer lab in the schools, encouraging professionals to pledge personal time to teaching the children in their schools and so on.

In amplifying reach and involvement of local populace, K Raheja Corp’s other business verticals like Crossword and Inorbit will also be activated for relevant initiatives.

Vishwas Dhumal – CSR Head, K. Raheja Corp said, “The most powerful tool to bring a real change in society is the classroom. We at K Raheja Corp understand the power of quality education, and are committed to reaching this to as many deserving children as possible. Through Teaching Tree we wish to empower the education system at the grass-root level, doing away with unequal education and also giving professionals an opportunity to come forward and join us through participation. We couldn’t have found a more befitting partner than Teach for India, who have already successfully created a difference and we look forward to amplifying this initiative with them.”

Karthik Rapala, City Director, Hyderabad – Teach for India said, “We are extremely happy to have a committed business house like K Raheja Corp come forward to support in the area of providing quality education to children. What is remarkable is that they are not restricting to the traditional support of providing us with funds alone but are encouraging participation from their partners inside Mindspace. We need more of the educated India of today to come forward to create an evolved and educated India of tomorrow. This partnership is reaching 9200 kids already and, we look forward to growing this number and moving closer to ending education inequality among children.”

K Raheja Corp is a success story spanning six decades and today stands as the most trusted ‘destination developer’ of India. Premeditating the changes in the industry they are continually crafting state-of-the-art spaces to meet the ever-changing demands and requirements of the market. With business diversified across realty, hospitality and retail, the company has gained acumen in all sectors of development. K Raheja Corp has pioneered the concepts of self-contained townships and commercial business districts in the country. Today, it offers multiple formats ranging from residential apartments to office spaces, and retail to entertainment creating self-contained luxurious neighborhoods.

Teach For India is a non-profit organization that believes in an excellent education for all children & is striving to end the problem of educational inequity in our country. We are driving this movement through our Fellowship program which places outstanding working professionals and college graduates as Fellows – teachers who work full-time for two years in low-income and under-resourced schools.
