MUMBAI: Dr C.S Kedar, retired Additional Chief Secretary, belongs to IAS 1979 batch, Karnataka Cadre, is currently working as CEO of CSR wing of JSW at Ballari will deliver special talk at India CSR Leadership Summit & Awards being organized by India CSR Network on May 26, 2016 at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai, India. Dr Kedar will speak on wider spectrum of Innovation and CSR.

He has had 34 years’ of rich work experience in public administration before joining JSW in 2013. He started his career as Assistant Commissioner of Ramanagaram in 1981 and served in various capacities both in GOK and GOI including Deputy Commissioners of Bengaluru and Ballari, Director of Watershed Development Programme, both at GOK & NABARD, and many more positions at Commissioner, Principal Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary levels.
He has a tradition of leaving behind legacy. As Secretary, Finance, he rolled out the biggest IT project ‘KHAJANA’ digitising the financial transactions of Government treasuries; Yeshasvini, the health insurance was digitised benefitting 20 lakh members of rural cooperatives while working as Principal Secretary, Co-operation; Working as Joint Secretary at Cabinet Secretariat Rastrapathy Bhavan, handled policy issues at highest level. As Director General, ESI Corporation, handled health insurance and health service provision to 62 million Indians through its own chain of 150 hospitals and 1500 dispensaries. Started post graduate courses in Medical education at 6 locations and initiated 8 medical colleges. Set up 8 new modern hospitals and modernised 22 existing hospitals. Rolled out one of the world’s biggest IT project with an out lay of Rs 12,000 million involving business process reengineering and training 65,000 officials. Issued smart cards to more than 15 million insured persons and creating Clinical Data Records of 62 million Indians.
As honorary member in the past he was on Board of Governors of IIM-Ranchi, and presently on the Boards of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwaraa Dharmothana Trust, a revered and respected NGO in Karnataka and advisor to Ramaseva Mandali, Bengaluru, one of the highly reputed cultural organisation. As JSW Foundation, he conceptualised the Mission Against Malnutrition and is leading the Mission team from the front.
About the Summit
The day long forum will witness vibrant political leaders, CSR think tanks, thinkers, social reformers and Govt. officials. It would be one of the biggest CSR knowledge and idea sharing forum in the year 2017.
More than 15 corporate leaders, CSR think tanks and NGO leaders will be participating in the summit to share their CSR vision for the progress of the country. Forum is expecting around 300 eminent corporate leaders, CSR think tanks, NGO leaders, academicians, Government Officers, social workers, implementing agencies from across the country, who will grace the summit to express their commitment and solidarity to the cause of inclusive development and to listen to these stalwarts.
The forum is an active congregation in this noble mission to support and create effective forum to discuss various contemporary socio-economic issues. One of the key focus in this Summit would be to put forth the new CSR agenda for national development.
The features of the forum include: Keynote Address, launching of Book on CSR Practices of Award Winning Corporate and NGOs, launching of CSR books by various authors, India CSR Awards for CSR Innovations, Exhibition and Partnership and Networking Tables and 300 leaders from more than 200 organizations. Leading corporates will be honoured for their outstanding contributions to the national progress in the domain of CSR at the forum.
