TENSA/BHUBANEWSAR: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), one of the leading steel & mines companies in India, has been conferred with the ‘Kalinga Safety Award – 2013’ for its best mining practices at TRB Iron Ore Mines, Tensa.
On behalf of JSPL, Mr. Kamala Kanta Nanda, General Manager & Head of Mines received the award from His Excellency Mr. France Morule, High Commissioner of South Africa at the 5th National Seminar on Odisha State Safety Conclave (OSSC), 2014 was held on 26th & 27th Sept, 2014 at, Bhubaneswar.
Among others Mr. Ashok Kumar Tripathy, Addl. Chief Secretary (Govt. of Odisha); Mr. R.K. Sharma, Principal Secretary -Forest & Environment (Govt. of Odisha) and Mr. P. Ranganatheswar, Dy. Director General of Mines Safety, Ranchi were present during the conclave which was jointly organized by Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services, Bhubaneswar and Quality Council of India, Odisha Chapter, and supported by Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India, DMI Bhopal, DG FASLI , DG Mines Safety, Govt. of India.
“Safety is one of the core focus areas of JSPL in all its operation. At TRB Iron Ore Mines, Tensa, we under the guidance of our Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal ji, take utmost care for safety of our workforce,” said Mr. Nanda, Head of the Tensa unit.
On behalf of JSPL’s Managing Director and Group CEO Sri Ravi Uppal, Sri Nanda thanked all the employees and associates for adopting safety practices meticulously as the top operational priority for the Company . During the Programme, other industry leaders appreciated JSPL’s effort for safety at its Tensa Unit.
Recently, the JSPL had bagged GreenTech Safety Award for its Barbil and Angul Unit for its best practices in Safety.
