The employees of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) led by Damodar Mittal, Plant Head Angul unit together with local community leaders paid their homage to the great visionary and the founder of Jindal Group of Industries Shri Om Prakash Jindal on his 90th Birth Anniversary today.
Addressing the ceremony Mr. Damodar Mittal shared his experience about leadership style and vision of Shri OP Jindal, who was affectionately called Bauji. “Because of his unique leadership and passion to serve the society and contribute to economic development of the country, he could build Jindal Group of Industries from Scratch,” he said.
Chairman of JSPL Shri Naveen Jindal together with other senior officials and local community members also paid his floral tribute to Shri OP Jindal.
Mr. Ravi Shankar, EVP-HR; Mr. S.K. Sharma, V.P- L & PR and Coal Procurement; Mr. Subhash Jain, AVP-SSD and Swami Satyabindu Saraswati also shared their experience about Bauji and how he always tried to motivate the employees to think big and innovative to achieve the goal of their lives.
JSPL Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of JSPL took up various social welfare programs in the locality to mark the occasion. The Foundation provided one month dry food ration materials to 375 inmates staying in 10 destitute homes to address hunger during COVID -19 Pandemic, distributed Cotton Masks and liquid hand wash among 400 jail inmates of Angul Jail and hygiene kits among farmers of two micro watershed development committee and two Farmers Producer Organizations. Other activities include Plantation drive in villages, Papaya Plantation as part of Nutri- Garden development program in 37 Anganwadies of Banarpal and Chhendipada Block etc.
The DAV Savitri Jindal School organized a painting competition “Portrait of Bauji” among the children of DAV Savitri Jindal High School through virtual platform, special hawan, plantation in the school campus.
A Special Prayer by the children of Adrut Children Home, Angul (Jindal Home), Poem Recitation competition on virtual platform by the students of DAV Savitri Jindal High School were also organized.
JSPL’s Bhubaneswar Office employees, led by Shri Prashant Kumar Hota, President and Head of Group CSR & Sustainability, also paid their tributes to Shri OP Jindal. Food packets were provided to children of the “Aama Ghara”, Bhubaneswar and at other places.
All the programs were organized with adherence to all the protocols given by the Government for the COVID19 pandemic.
JSPL Barbil Observes 90th Birth Anniversary of OP Jindal
Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) observed 90th birth anniversary of Shri Om Prakash Jindal, the great visionary and founder of Jindal Group here on Friday. To commemorate the day, several programmes were organised at Jindal School and pellet plant premises.
Executive Vice President and JSPL’s Barbil Unit Head Suresha G along with other employees and workers of the pelletisation complex offered floral tributes to the visionary industrialist and philanthropist, who was fondly called as Bauji.
In his address Suresha G, said, “Bauji was a visionary entrepreneur with highest standards of ethics, transparency and integrity. He was very optimistic and his journey will remain as the eternal source of inspiration and guidance for all young Indians. He will always be remembered for his immense contribution to the Indian Steel Industry.”
Earlier in the day, havan and yagna was performed at Shramik Vihar in the pellet plant premises. Over three hundred workers and employees paid respect to the revered soul at the end of the day-long event. In a unique way, paying tributes to the leader, students of Jindal School performed cultural programme through a virtual meet. The event included classical dance and recitation of self-composed poems in memory of the leader.
Among others EVP (Commercial) SK Agrawal, GM (HR & ES) Sarat Kishore Panda, DGM (CSR) Vargil Lakra and Jindal School principal Ms Sangitarani Das were present on the occasion.
