ANGUL: The 65th Independence Day was celebrated in the premises of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL), Angul with much zeal and zest on Monday. The entire Jindal Pariwaar attended the programme. JSPL had organised a slew of events to mark the occasion.
The Executive Director (JSPL) Mr. Rajesh Jha unfurled the National Flag. While addressing the gathering, Mr Jha read out the Independence Day Message of Mr. Naveen Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director of JSPL. Conveying the best wishes of Mr Jindal on this special day to one and all, Mr Jha quoted him as saying “We are proud that our company is playing a very vital role in the socio-economic development of the nation. Our domestic and global projects in mining, steel and power sector have been growing remarkably. We have to give utmost importance towards safety in all our work. It’s our responsibility to develop a culture of working safely at all work places. ”
Reading out the futuristic vision message of Mr Jindal, Mr Jha quoted “In what could be an important step for us, we have signed a MoU with Rio Tinto, an Australian company for the HIsmelt technology that would help making iron ore fines steel.”
Mr Jindal was also quoted as saying “practicing small family norm will ensure happiness in the house hold, improve quality of life and build a strong India.”
The ED Mr Rajesh Jha said that “We are aspiring to build the largest Steel Industry in the World, the destiny of Our future generation and our Odisha. All these Industrial Projects will elevate Angul and Odisha to a respectable place in the World Economic Map.”
Wishing on the Day to people of Angul, Odisha, and all Indians and foreigners working for the cause of India, Mr Jha also said “ Angul is in the making of being the Economic Capital of Odisha and your Jindal Steel and Power is one of the key contributors for this upcoming status. It is obvious that being the first generation builder of Destiny , we need to sacrifice . Our Today’s sacrifice will build Tomorrow’s destiny.”
Mr. Jha also praised the company’s activities especially those under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to improve quality of life in periphery villages.
After the flag hoisting, various mesmerizing cultural programmes were staged by the students from KIDZEE Play School, Kalabhavan, OP Jindal School, and Lady Security Personnel of JSPL. afterwards Awards and recognitions were given away to children, housewives, employees and security personnel for their exemplary deeds in the field of Social Work & Bravery which included Ms. Prsannata Shandilya for Bravery and Mr. P.K. Panda, Mrs. Prativarani Padhi & Tapas Mohanty for their outstanding contribution in the field of Social Work.
The premises of JSPL were decked up even as an air of festivity prevailed. Giving the vote of thanks Jindal Officers Club secretary Dr. Saroj Mohapatra appreciated the efforts of JOC and Jindal Mahila Samiti for their efforts in organising and making the event a grand success. Mrs. Usha Jha, President Jindal Mahila Samiti (JMS) and Mr. Virendra Kumar Rastogi, President (Projects) Jindal Power Ltd (JPL) were also present on the occasion.
On this occasion JSPL also distributed sweets to 11,600 students and 1400 teachers which included School Management Committee members and guests in all the 53 schools and 42 Anganwadi Centres in its periphery. 14 Oriya speaking Officers of JSPL, who are mentors to 14 schools of 13 villages in the periphery, participated in the Independence-day celebration. Mr. Prashant Hota, Associate Vice President (CSR), JSPL wished all the school students, teachers including School Management Committee members, for their patriotic and nationalistic spirit. The O.P. Jindal Community College (OPJCC) also celebrated the 65th Independence-day where Principal of the OPJCC Mr. P.W.Singh conveyed the message of JSPL Chairman & MD Shri Naveen Jindal.
In his concluding speech Jindal Officer’s Club Secretary, Dr. Saroj Mahapatra thanked Jindal Mahila Samiti President Smt Usha Jha & it’s members along with Jindal Officer’s Club for organizing such a remarkable programme.
