During the 11th India CSR Leadership Summit, veteran CSR leader Jitendra Routray was felicitated with “India CSR Professional of The Year Awards 2021” for his remarkable contribution towards Corporate Social Responsibility and Rural Development, on 16th January 2021.
Expressing his gratitude while receiving the award, Jitendra said, “I feel privileged and honoured. At the same time, I feel the enormous responsibility of this recognition which inspires and motivates me to continue the dedicated work aimed at CSR.”
Jitendra Routray is the Head CSR at ReNew Power Pvt. Ltd. and has seen the journey of CSR in ReNew from its inception. His core responsibilities include developing vision and long term strategy for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the company, overseeing day to day operations, leading engagement with various institutions like IIT Delhi, UNGC, CII, NITI Aayog etc. He is also an Aspire Fellow– enlightened social leadership fellowship program in India and recently nominated for the CSR committee of FICCI and IMA.
Jitendra started his career as a Development Professional in 1998 with Development Alternatives. Later he moved on to join Help Age India, where he was involved in the development of development of various tools for data collection and analysis and project planning and development for the organization. He had a brief stint CARE India and Schumacher Centre as “Consultant”, where he was responsible for developing implementation strategy for projects and overseeing the execution of the projects. After CARE India, Jitendra joined ANaRDe Foundation as Country Head – India where he was involved in strategy development and planning, resource mobilization, human resource development and general management.
In 2008, Jitendra joined TATA Teleservices Limited as Lead CSR and Affirmative Action (AA) where he was responsible for developing CSR and AA strategy and management of various CSR projects undertaken by the company.
Jitendra completed his graduation and post-graduation from Utkal University in Orissa after which he completed his PG diploma course in Rural Development from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He also completed a certified course in social leadership from George Washington University, USA.
The ‘India CSR Awards‘ is certainly an inspiration to the leaders who are committed to driving transformations in the society with their dedicated service and commitment in the areas of sustainability and CSR.
