ANGUL (India CSR): The Jindal Steel Premier League – III, an inter-departmental cricket tournament at the Angul Unit, concluded successfully on 4th February 2026 with a high-energy grand finale played under floodlights. A total of 42 teams from various departments participated, demonstrating remarkable sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive spirit.
The tournament, held from 23rd January to 4th February 2026, culminated in a final match between Extreme Steel and Juggernauts. After being put in to bat, Juggernauts set a target of 124 runs. Extreme Steel, in reply, scored 108 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, resulting in a 15-run victory for Juggernauts, who emerged as the champions.
Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director, Angul Unit, and Damodar Mittal, Executive Director, Iron Zone, witnessed the final match and presented the trophies to the teams. They congratulated both teams on their impressive performance and highlighted the role of sports in fostering fitness, discipline, and collective teamwork.
Individual awards were presented to Chinmay Sahoo (Man of the Match), Aditya Narayan (Best Batsman), and Saroj Garnayak (Best All-rounder) from Team Juggernauts. From Team Extreme Steel, Amit Sah was named Man of the Series, while Soumyakanta Nayak received the Best Bowler award.
The tournament was inaugurated by Hridayswar Jha, Executive Director – Special Projects, as Chief Guest, and Biju Nair, Advisor – Iron Zone, as Guest of Honour.
Friendly matches were also organized to encourage participation among the ladies’ workforce and housewives. Seema Malhan & Mrs. Anita Mittal, President Jindal Mahila Samiti joined the matches to motivate and support the women players.
The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of senior management.
