The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started JEE Main 2024 registration from November 1, 2023 onwards. Candidates who wish to appear for JEE Main 2024 must register online on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. The registration process involves filling up an online application form, uploading necessary documents, and paying the application fee.
JEE Main 2024 Important Dates
- JEE Main 2024 Session 1 Dates: January 24 to February 1, 2024
- JEE Main 2024 Session 2 Dates: April 1 to April 15, 2024
- JEE Main 2024 Registration Date: November 1, 2023
NTA announced JEE Main 2024 exam dates through the NTA exam calendar 2024-25 on the official website, nta.ac.in on September 19, 2023. Detailed notice along with notification, registration and admit card dates will be announced in December tentatively by December 15, 2023.
Last year, NTA began JEE Main registration along with the release of exam notification on December 15, 2022 along with exam dates, information brochure and syllabus. This year, NTA has launched a new website, earlier it was jeemain.nta.nic.in, now the official website for JEE Main is jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates can visit the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in for the latest updates on notification and registration dates.
JEE Main 2024 Session 1 Dates
For Academic Session 2024-25, it has been decided that the JEE (Main) – 2024 will be conducted in two Sessions i.e. Session 1 (January 2024) and Session 2 (April 2024). The details for the Session 1 (January 2024) are given below:
- Online Submission of Application Form: 01 November 2023 to 30 November 2023 (up to 09:00 P.M.)
- Last date of successful transaction of fee through Credit/Debit Card/Net-Banking/UPI: 30 November 2023 (up to 11:50 P.M.)
- Announcement of the City of Examination: By the Second week of January 2024
- Downloading Admit Cards: from the NTA website 03 days before the actual date of the Examination
- Date(s) of Examination: Between 24 January and 01 February 2024
- Declaration of Result on the NTA website: 12 February 2024
JEE (Main) – 2024 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. A candidate has the option to apply for one Session or for both Sessions (Session 1 and Session 2 of 2024) together and pay the exam fee accordingly.
JEE Main 2024 Session 2 Dates
Candidates can apply for both JEE Main Session 1 and 2. However, registrations for JEE Main 2024 April Session will begin again in the second week of February 2024. The last date for JEE application form will be 1st week of March 2024. Just like Session 1, the city slip and admit card will be released in a phased manner, a week before the exam date. The results for April Session will be announced within three weeks after the exam conclusion on April 15, 2024.
The Ministry of Education has reconstituted the JEE Apex Board (JAB) for the smooth conduct of JEE Main 2024 Session 1 and Session 2. JAB will be the final authority for setting up the rules and regulations concerning JEE Main and will also coordinate with JEE Advanced organizing institution. The National Testing Agency will provide administrative and logistic support for the conduct of JEE Main across the country.
JEE Main 2024 is conducted as a computer-based test (CBT). The exam is of 3 hours duration and consists of 90 questions. The questions are based on the syllabus of NCERT Class 11 and Class 12. As per the rationalized NCERT books and NEET 2024 reduced syllabus, JEE Main 2024 syllabus is also expected to undergo certain changes. However, the official notification will be announced on the official website along with the information brochure, notification and registration details.
Aspirants are advised to start their preparation early and follow a proper study plan to score 95%ile in JEE Mains. Referring to new rationalized NCERT is advised. Practicing JEE Previous Years Questions and taking regular mock tests will help aspirants assess their exam prep progress.
