PUNE: Ishanya Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd, culminated its 4 day annual NGO fair today.
Yellow Ribbon NGO fair, where more than 100 NGOs and Self Help Groups (SHG) from across Maharashtra and other states like Karnataka participated, to sell their unique products, received an overwhelming response from the customers.

Having contributed her efforts inSocial Initiativesin the areas of community health, education and women’s issues, Mrs. Rati Forbes- Director Forbes Marshall Ltd.was the chief guest for the evening and also gave away the prizes to the winners, in the presence of Mrs. Parul Mehta- Trustee,Ishanya Foundation. .
Ishanya Foundation, at the 7th Yellow Ribbon NGOs Fair, instituted cash prizes to motivate and empower the skill sets of the artisans.
Cash prize of Rs. 50, 000 was awarded to Light of Life Trust and Swami Samarth Purush Bachat Gat supported by NABARD for the first spot.
Cash Prize of Rs. 30,000 was awarded to Mahalaxmi Mahila Bachat Gat and Anandvan for second spot
And Cash prize of Rs. 20,000 was awarded to Janki Devi Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha and Ashta Na Koi For the third Spot
A separate prize was instituted to food stalls as per the rating provided by the judges.
The title for the best rated stall for a cash prize of Rs. 5000, in food category was won by Samruddhi Mahila Bachat Gat. The stall offered an array of delectable snacks of PuranPolis and other Maharashtrian Dishes.
Mrs. Rati Forbes- Director Forbes Marshall Ltd said: “I am humbled by the enthusiasm and passion of the NGOs and SHGs towards participation in the fair. I appreciate the support and platform provided by Ishanya team to these NGOs to showcase their talents and generate income. We need more of such initiatives to provide a credible platform to the efforts taken by NGOs and SHGs”
Activities like Live Cooking Demo by Mrs. Asha Khatau, award winning play by Jungle book and Dance performance by the students of ManeeshaSathe, Yogini Gandhi and Amtritanjali school of Bharat Natyam, added a the celebration fervor to the ongoing fair.
On the occasion Mrs. Parul Mehta, Trustee, Ishanya Foundation quoted “Like every year,even this year’s Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair, has received an overwhelming response from the customers. The support from the people has been a major boost for the NGOs & SHGs to participate in the fair and to be self- sustainable. The fair provided the NGOs and SHGs a unique opportunity to learn, share, network, and generate new ideas & awareness about the marketing trends with the urban and rural market.
Stalls selling festive items such as Diwali Diyas, jewellery, silk sarees, torans, dry fruits, honey and rangolis, were much applauded by the visitors. The range of attractive products such as traditional Paithani, cane products, candles, Terracotta artifacts, handmade cards, organic food, etc also made a good sale.
Traditional live food counter served delicious Maharashtrian food like PithalaBhakri, BainganBharta, PuranPoli, Steamed Modaks, Jalebis, PaniPuri.
The focus of Ishanya Foundation has been Livelihood generation and subsequently making the underprivileged self-sufficient. The foundation believes in imparting courses in Vocational know-how and encouraging skills & talent of every individual’s inclination.
From NGOs like Akanksha Foundation, an NGO working for education for underprivileged to SahayogPariwar operational for tribal welfare and populace, this year many more NGOs from other neighboring states like Gujarat, Karnataka has willingly participated and are eager to display their unique range of products. The gifting products are not only occasion specific but also can be used round the year. The food items are at par with homemade products available at a reasonable Price.
Ishanya Foundation is a registered Trust established under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950, in April 2006 and works as the CSR arm of Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.The Ishanya Foundation conducts several outreach programs, in and around Pune and also in the villages around Taloja in Panvel Taluka in Raigad District. These programs are in the areas of Women Empowerment through livelihood programs Health & Education.
