THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: UST Global, a leading digital technology services company’s mobile app ‘iSafe’ has won the award for ‘Best Use of Mobile Technology’ at the Elets Knowledge Exchange Awards 2015 at Goa.
‘iSafe’ also appears as a safety feature in Thiruvananthapuram City Police (TCP) mobile app, which helps the residents to seek emergency police help in panic situations.
The app was conferred the award in the governance category at the ceremony co-hosted by Elets Technomedia and the Information Technology Department of Government of Goa. It was recognized for improving overall police governance and public safety by empowering citizens using digital technology.
iSafe was developed for UST Global’s Thiruvananthapuram City Police mobile app and it enables citizens to maintain direct contact with police personnel during emergencies.
Chief Executive Officer of UST Global Sajan Pillai expressed happiness at receiving the award and said that it reinforces company’s efforts to transform world through digital technology.

The users benefit from real-time police assistance while in danger or in a situation that requires immediate assistance with the push of a button on the mobile phone. Once the police receives the alert along with information such as location, subscriber ID and mobile IMEI number, they dispatch help from the nearest police control room vehicle.
iSafe is being used by thousands of users in Thiruvananthapuram, including women and senior citizens.
