India vs Australia 4th T20I: The fourth T20I between India and Australia will take place on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The match will start at 7 pm IST and will be broadcast live on Star Sports, Jio Cinema and Disney+ Hotstar.

Stadium Information

The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, also known as the Naya Raipur International Cricket Stadium, is a cricket arena in the city of Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh. It is one of the finest cricket stadiums in India and is also known as Naya Raipur International Cricket Stadium. It is a well facilitated and equipped stadium with all modern facilities.

The stadium is named after Veer Narayan Singh Binjhwar, a landlord from Sonakhan who spearheaded the 1857 war of Indian independence in Chhattisgarh.

The stadium has a seating capacity of 65,000 spectators and has the longest boundaries in Asia, with an average boundary size of 80 meters. It is the largest cricket stadium in Central India, third largest in India and the fifth-largest cricket stadium in the world.

The stadium hosted its first international cricket match in 2023, when India played New Zealand in an ODI, which was won by India.

How to reach the stadium from Raipur city?

The stadium is situated in sector 3 of Naya Raipur, close to the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Naya Raipur and is 21 km away from Raipur main city.

There are various modes of transport available to reach the stadium from Raipur city, such as buses, taxis, autos, and private vehicles.

  • Buses: The Chhattisgarh State Road Transport Corporation (CSRTC) operates regular buses from Raipur city to Naya Raipur. The bus fare is Rs 20 per person and the journey takes about 45 minutes. The buses stop at the Naya Raipur Bus Stand, which is about 2 km away from the stadium. From there, one can take an auto or a taxi to reach the stadium.
  • Taxis: There are many online and offline taxi services available in Raipur city, such as Ola, Uber, Meru, and Savaari. The taxi fare ranges from Rs 300 to Rs 500 depending on the type of vehicle and the time of travel. The journey takes about 30 minutes. The taxis can drop the passengers at the stadium gate.
  • Autos: There are many autos available in Raipur city, which charge Rs 10 per km. The journey takes about 40 minutes. The autos can drop the passengers at the stadium gate.
  • Private vehicles: One can also drive their own vehicle to the stadium, which is well connected by road. The stadium has ample parking space for cars and two-wheelers. The parking fee is Rs 50 for cars and Rs 20 for two-wheelers. The journey takes about 25 minutes.

What are the facilities and attractions at the stadium?

The stadium has been built with the facilities of a modern sports arena. The media facilities as well as the corporate boxes have been renovated and roofs cover the rest of the ground to provide comfort during hot periods.

The stadium also has a food court, a souvenir shop, a medical center, and a security system. The food court offers a variety of cuisines, such as Indian, Chinese, Continental, and local delicacies. The souvenir shop sells merchandise related to cricket, such as jerseys, caps, bats, balls, and autographs. The medical center provides emergency services and first aid to the spectators and the players. The security system ensures the safety and security of the stadium and the crowd.

The stadium also offers a spectacular view of the surroundings, such as the lush green fields, the hills, and the skyline of Naya Raipur. The stadium is also close to some tourist attractions, such as the Jungle Safari, the Purkhouti Muktangan, and the Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Van.

The stadium is expected to witness a high-voltage clash between India and Australia, who are currently tied at 1-1 in the five-match T20I series.
