MUMBAI: AROH Foundation – a national level NGO strengthening government programmes and CSR initiatives was recognized at mega India CSR Leadership Summit on May 26, 2017. It was awarded under the category Best NGO for exemplary work done in the area of Grass root Leadership and Social Innovation.
The award was received by their president – Dr. Neelam Gupta and Surender Kumar- Senior Project Manager, Integrated Village Development received the award on behalf of the organization.
The recognition is a testimony to the impactful work done by AROH Foundation in the area of Community Development. As part of Social Innovation, AROH Foundation has conceptualized, planned and developed innovative approaches to harness the power of science and technology towards the development of the vulnerable and marginalized communities in the remote parts of India.
At present AROH Foundation is implementing the Integrated Village Development Programme – a dynamic rural development programme in hundreds of remote villages of India in different states, like Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya etc.
The systematic and methodical approach of the organization has enabled the programme to scale new heights with successful construction of more 5000 Individual Household Units, 4000 Solar Driven Street lights and 150 Solar Water Filtration units in more than 80 villages of the above mentioned states.
The intervention has directly benefited and empowered thousand of households and enabled to access basic needs such as Water and Sanitation.
Over the years AROH Foundation has emerged as a credible name in the area of sustainable development. It has successfully provided skill development training to more than 25000 poor and unemployed youth, empowered more than 12000 women through skill development initiatives and enrolled more than 35000 out-of-school children in formal schools. The successful projects of AROH Foundation which have been recognized nationally include – Padho Aur Badho, Garima, Udaan and Utkarsh and these projects have been recognized by the Government agencies as model projects.
