PATNA (India CSR): The concluding day of the Third International Conference on Public Policy and Management (ICPPM 2025), organized by Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), brought together policymakers, researchers, and grassroots changemakers for a series of thought-provoking presentations and policy discussions centered on climate resilience, sustainable development, and localized governance.
The day commenced with two parallel technical sessions. The first focused on climate change and sustainability in industry and agriculture, featuring research papers that explored inclusive development, environmental risks, rural livelihoods, labour migration, and food security. The studies provided multi-sectoral insights into how climate action and sustainability can be integrated into India’s path toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The second session assessed the impact of public policy across various sectors, with papers addressing education reform, infrastructure, women in the informal economy, climate adaptation in agriculture, digital safety, and green mobility. The session emphasized the importance of evidence-based policymaking, sectoral analysis, and robust frameworks for evaluating development outcomes.
In the post-lunch session, a high-level panel discussion titled “Localizing SDGs: Evidence from the Field” examined real-world strategies for adapting global goals to local contexts. The panel highlighted successful models and ongoing challenges in integrating the SDGs into regional policies and community practices. Drawing on examples from across India—with a focus on Bihar—the session underscored the importance of participatory governance, frontline workers, and institutional capacity in promoting sustainable development. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Sudhanshu Kumar of the Bihar Institute of Public Finance and Policy and featured voices from academia, Panchayati Raj Institutions, frontline health workers including ASHAs, civil society, and development practitioners.
The day concluded with the Valedictory Address by Prof. Dr. S. Ganapathy Venkatasubramanian, Professor of Environmental Management and Law at Anna University, Chennai, who spoke on the crucial role of legal frameworks and environmental governance in advancing sustainable development.A comprehensive summary of the two-day conference was presented by Prof. Sibananda Senapati, Associate Professor at CIMP, who reflected on the key takeaways and the collaborative spirit that defined the event. Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, felicitated the delegates and congratulated the organizing team on the successful execution of the conference. The event formally concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Debabrata Samanta, Assistant Professor at CIMP and Convenor of ICPPM 2025, who expressed gratitude to all speakers, delegates, and partners for their valuable contributions.
