NEW DELHI: Leading global ICT solutions provider, Huawei Technologies India, the Indian Research and Development Centre of Huawei, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with JSS Science and Technology University, Mysore, to provide Huawei Scholarships for Excellence to students of its engineering college.
As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Huawei Technologies India advocates contribution to countries and communities in which it operates, promoting and encouraging education and research.
The scholarship Rs. 50,000 each will be given annually to second, third and fourth year students of the Bachelor of Technology course.
The university nominated academically distinguished students for scholarship support from the company, according to a press release.
The Huawei scholarships will be provided to as many as 10 students with high academic performance who require financial assistance, to encourage them to achieve academic excellence and pave the way for their career, the university stated in the release.
The University Vice-Chancellor Prof BG Sangameshwara recently distributed the scholarship cheques to students in the presence of the university’s administrative team.
