How PushkarKandpal Is Giving Sundarkand a Voice the Younger Generation Listens To

In a country where faith has always found expression through music, very few voices manage to slow people down, hold their attention, and leave something behind long after the last note fades. PushkarKandpal is quietly becoming one of those rare voices. As a Sundarkand artist, his approach to SundarkandPaath feels rooted, refined, and deeply personal.

Rooted in devotion, shaped by discipline, and carried by years of unseen effort, Kandpal represents a new generation of Sundarkand artists who treat the tradition with reverence while presenting it with musical depth and dignity. The Uttarakhand-born singer is being recognised for bringing depth and emotion to musical Sundarkand and Hanuman bhajans. His work does not chase volume or spectacle. It seeks stillness, emotion, and immersion, qualities that are increasingly rare in modern devotional spaces.

Born into a religious Brahmin family in Uttarakhand, Pushkar’s connection with Ram bhakti was not a career choice. It was a way of life. His father, HiraBallabhKandpal, conducted and led AkhandRamayanPaath continuously for 12 years in his village Bhitarkot, Garur, in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, drawing devotees from neighboring villages and creating an atmosphere where devotion became a shared way of life. As a child, Pushkar watched visiting Ramayanmandalis transform ordinary village evenings into something sacred. That moment planted a quiet curiosity which later became purpose. It was his first real understanding of how powerful Sundarkandpaath can be when it is sung with feeling.

Music entered his life slowly and seriously. He began learning harmonium, then voice, and eventually trained under UstadGhulamMurtaza Khan of the Rampur SahaswanGharana, son of the late Padma VibhushanUstadGhulam Mustafa Khan. The lineage speaks for itself. This is the same tradition that shaped voices like Sonu Nigam, Hariharan, and A R Rahman. Years of classical training refined his control, depth, and emotional range, all of which now define him as a Sunderkand artist.

While Pushkar has performed Bollywood, retro, and classical compositions across corporate shows and government platforms in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Dehradun, and Gwalior, and has also sung on Doordarshan, his deeper calling slowly moved toward Sundarkand. Not as a ritual, but as an experience that could connect across generations.

Underneath the assuredness of his on-stage presence is a story built on hard work and sacrifice. Kandpal’s music training demanded years of physical and mental endurance. He travelled across cities, often spending long hours on buses and trains just to attend short classes, before returning to resume his routine. He invested his own resources, carried his own equipment, and performed wherever the opportunity existed. Every refinement in his voice is the result of discipline, not convenience. This slow, self-built path has given his music a quiet authority. When PushkarKandpal sings today, it carries the weight of someone who earned his place note by note.

Unlike conventional formats, PushkarKandpal’sSundarkand is fully musical, carefully paced, and emotionally immersive. Bhajans blend seamlessly with the verses, creating an atmosphere where even younger listeners remain engaged for the full three hours. It is not rushed. It is not ornamental. It is deeply felt. Audiences often describe a sense of calm, connection, and emotional release. Many say they stayed attentive without realising how time passed, something rarely associated with long-form Sunderkandpaath.

This approach has received recognition from leading devotional music platforms. Recently, PushkarKandpal released his Sundarkand under T Series Bhakti Sagar and Sanskar Music, marking a significant milestone in his journey as a Sundarkand artist. These releases have been well received by listeners, who praise the clarity, emotional depth, and musical discipline in his voice. His devotional music is also available on major platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and JioSaavn, helping his work reach audiences beyond live performances.

PushkarKandpal stands at an important point in his journey. He is not a newcomer, and he is not chasing trends. He is an emerging voice in the Sundarkand space who brings classical training, devotional intent, and contemporary presentation together with balance. Many listeners now regard him as a top Sunderkand artist because of the experience he creates rather than the scale he projects.

What sets him apart is restraint. He does not dramatise faith. He allows the music to speak. His performances are designed to elevate, not overwhelm. That sensibility has earned him growing recognition across digital platforms, social media, and live audiences.

As more releases line up across devotional channels, PushkarKandpal’s journey reflects a larger truth about modern devotion. Sincerity still matters. Patience still counts. And when devotion finds a disciplined voice, it reaches the people who are ready to listen. For those seeking a refined, emotionally honest Sunderkandpaath, PushkarKandpal is aSundarkand artist whose name is steadily finding its place in India’s devotional landscape.
