How can you make a profit in betting on volleyball?

In recent years, volleyball has come forth as one of the most popular sports in India. The game is a thriller to watch with majestic blows and combinations. It also includes practical strategies to maximise the chances of winning.

However, there are still a few inaccuracies among punters to successfully place a wager on volleyball. Therefore, this post will cover the required essentials to forge an effective online betting strategy for volleyball.

Without further ado, let’s begin.

Understand the rules

Volleyball matches primarily include two versions of the game – beach games and indoor games. It is helpful to be aware of both formats to place a bet on the events successfully.

Hence, here are a few rules that you should know:

  • Both the teams play the game to score more points than their opponent. It is triggered by mainly two strategies – enabling the opponent to make a mistake or staging a thriving play.
  • The setting of the games in both beach and indoor environments include a net and two opposing sides. Moreover, the idea is not to let the ball bounce and use the arms to throw it around.

Forge a volleyball betting strategy by understanding the difference between beach and indoor volleyball games:

  • The games include several sets assessed by the number of points that are different for both forms. For instance, in beach volleyball, a team should achieve 21 points with a margin of two-points to win the set. On the other hand, the team must earn 25 points in the indoor setting.
  • Indoor games require power and the players to hit harder. Hence, they utilise leather-bound heavier balls. In contrast, beach games use lighter balls that float in the air, resulting in good players to use the weather to their advantage.
  • The team in indoor volleyball games is made up of six players and two players in beach games. It is a significant difference between the two-match settings.

Learn the different forms of volleyball betting

Like any other form of sports betting in India, you can place different wagers in volleyball.

Let’s take a look.

  1. Match betting: It is important to note that there are no draw games in volleyball, making placing wagers on matches a more comfortable betting form. So all you need to do is select the sportsbook and the match list to bet.
  2. Points-betting: Points betting works by enabling the bettors to guess the number of points scored in a match. You should note that indoor games involve a maximum of five sets, and beach games include three, so guess the points accordingly. For instance, the minimum number of points scored in a beach game is 75, reflecting 25-0 in three sets that are a rarity.
  3. Score betting: Score betting is a form of match betting with the only difference that it requires you to guess a specific score. You can even bet on the sets for a winning or losing side. The point is that score betting is suitable for individuals who aim to discover other avenues apart from outright betting.

Bet on the important tournaments

Tournaments are long term betting markets that are immensely popular among sports bettors. Moreover, a few sportsbooks devise the odds for Olympics games favoured among most bettors.

Besides international events like the Olympics and FIVB World Championship, you can check domestic tournaments for betting on volleyball. For instance, you can bet on events like Senior Nationals, Youth Nationals, Federation Cup, Mini Nationals, etc. More importantly, you should check the Pro Volleyball League in India played among six teams.
