UDAIPUR (India CSR): Hindustan Zinc Limited, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and among the top 5 silver producers globally, continues its stride towards eradicating malnutrition by announcing the 2nd edition of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, scheduled for 21st September 2025 starting from Field Club, Udaipur. To mark the launch, the official marathon poster, capturing the serene beauty of Udaipur was unveiled, inspiring participants to support the noble cause of #RunForZeroHunger by Nand Ghar, an Anil Agarwal Foundation initiative focused on combating malnutrition in India. The race-day jersey was also revealed, designed in vibrant hues of blue, orange, pink. The colours symbolise inclusivity, energy and unity, echoing the spirit of a marathon for all – where every step counts, and everyone is welcome. The unveiling ceremony was graced by Chief Conservator of Forest Department Shri Sunil Chedri, Hindustan Zinc CEO & Whole-time Director Arun Misra, and Dr. Manoj Soni from ABCR (Anybody Can Run).

Building on the resounding success of the inaugural edition in 2024, which saw over 5,000 runners from across the globe, the marathon returns this year with an even grander vision. The runners will once again traverse Udaipur’s stunning landscapes, including the picturesque Fateh Sagar Lake and Aravalli Hills, while celebrating inclusivity and community spirit. The marathon will feature categories including the Half Marathon (21 km), Cool Run (10 km), and Dream Run (5 km), along with a feature race for specially abled individuals, deemed as “Race with Champions”. The Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon is an official member of the Association of the International Marathons (AIMS) and Distance Races, proudly holding AIMS certification.

Sunil Chedri, Chief Conservator of Forest Department, Udaipur commented “The Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon has emerged as a significant event for Udaipur, one that will mark the city on the global map. It is not just a one-day event but the result of year-long efforts, bringing benefits for public health while also carrying the noble contribution of the #RunForZeroHunger initiative. This purposeful effort is not only a fight against malnutrition but also a celebration of community spirit. Sports play a vital role in the holistic development of individuals, and this initiative by Hindustan Zinc is truly commendable. I extend my best wishes to the organizers of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon and to all the participants”

Blending the power of technology with tradition, the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon scaled new heights as the official poster and jersey were unveiled following a dynamic digital launch – a first-of-its-kind initiative that set the tone for Udaipur’s most awaited sporting spectacle. The event also featured a renowned mentalist – Mr. Sapan Joshi, who captivated the audience with mind-blowing tricks intertwining the same with Udaipur’s rich history and marathon mission. To enhance the experience, engaging activities were organized for participants and guests alike.

Fondly known as India’s most beautiful marathon, the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon is more than just a celebration of running – it’s a tribute to Udaipur’s cultural and natural heritage. From serene lakes and majestic palaces to the breathtaking Aravalli ranges, the route offers participants an unforgettable experience that blends fitness with tradition. This year, Hindustan Zinc is proud to welcome runners from 27 states across India & International participation , making it a global celebration of health, unity, and endurance. Beyond the spirit of sportsmanship, the marathon is set to give a significant boost to tourism in Udaipur, inviting visitors to explore its rich history and vibrant hospitality. The event will also bring an economic uplift to the city, benefiting local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and artisans – making it a win for both the community and the country.

As a proud host, Hindustan Zinc has been at the forefront of sports-led community development in Rajasthan and beyond. Through initiatives such as the Zinc Football Academy (India’s first residential academy for girls), grassroots programmes in cricket, kabaddi, handball, and volleyball, and flagship community engagements like the Zinc Football Nand Ghar project, the company continues to nurture talent, foster inclusivity, and strengthen the social fabric.
