Hindustan Zinc Kayad Mines celebrated 74th Independence Day this year by felicitating around 70 Corona warriors working in the surrounding community for their immense contribution during Covid-19 pandemic. The felicitation program was organized by Gram Panchayat Kayad & Gagwana.
Kastoor Meena, Director – Kayad Mines said, “We’re always committed to support the lives and livelihood of our communities and ready to do development work in the surrounding area. Therefore, it is our duty to honor the people who have played an important role in the country during such difficult times”.
On this occasion, Dr. Ashok Kalra of Gagwana CHC, along with the Sarpanch & village representatives of Kayad and Gagwana Gram Panchayat were present.
Kastoor Meena awarded certificates to doctors, nurses, police personnel, government school teachers & Principal, Rural Development Officer along with the Sarpanch & village representatives of Kayad, Ghughra & Gagwana.
Hindustan Zinc has been undertaking extensive measures to support the community it operates in and playing the role of a responsible corporate in the wake of the COVID pandemic. The company has been distributing dry ration and feeding cooked food to needy people and migrant laborers, spraying sodium hypochlorite solution, distributing cloth masks made by rural women, providing support at Kayad Quarantine Center and supporting the needy through Grain Bank initiative under Sakhi & Samadhan project.
While addressing the officials of Hindustan Zinc, the Sarpanch said, “We are thankful to Hindustan Zinc for supporting the villagers in such difficult times. Kayad Mines has supported us with social work from a long time.”
