Paul Abraham has been appointed as the President of Hinduja Foundation. Paul has joined the Hinduja Foundation from IndusInd Bank, where he was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for over 11 years. As the President of the Foundation, Paul will be in-charge of driving the philanthropic activities of the Hinduja Group.
Commenting on his new role at Hinduja Foundation, Paul said “I am excited to join Hinduja Foundation and look forward to working closely with the team. Philanthropy has been a core value of the group and to be able to contribute and add value in the goal and vision of our Founder is a huge opportunity. I am confident that we shall together conquer many peaks going forward.”
Paul has over 37 years of experience in the Banking and Financial sector. He joined ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in January 1993 and was associated with the Bank in various capacities, both in India and overseas. Before joining IndusInd Bank in 2008, Paul held the position of Managing Director, ABN AMRO Central Enterprise Services (ACES). He started his career in 1982 with ANZ Grindlays Bank (now Standard Chartered Bank). Paul also mentors companies in the start-up space in the sectors of Fintech and FMCG.
Though Paul has been a career Banker he is a philanthropist at heart. A rare combination of financial acumen, passion for history plus ecology and a compassionate heart, he has diverse interests. He is a lover of the visual arts and India’s cultural heritage. He is also a numismatist. He has been an active wild lifer and has been involved with conservation of India’s natural heritage over many years. He supports many causes in the field of education, nature conservation and the arts in his personal capacity.
