New Delhi: Hindalco Industries Ltd (HIL), supports education, healthcare, sustainable livelihood, infrastructure development and social reformation under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with 12 Lakh beneficiaries in more than 730 villages across 11 states in India.
The company spent Rs 34 Crore on CSR during FY 2018-19, which is more than the prescribed CSR budget of Rs 29.97 crore.
The company covers 103 model villages across 11 states, 22 districts, 26 Talukas, 36 blocks and 39 slums.
HIL has spent the highest amount of Rs 10.99 crore on education sector among all its CSR initiatives in FY 2018-19.
The programmes under education sector includes school education programme, enrolment awareness programmes, formal schools, education Material (study materials, uniform and books), scholarship and school competitions, quality education (support teachers, Improve education methods), specialised coaching, exposure visits, support to Midday Meal Project.
The programmes covered the areas of Kolhapur in Maharastra, Belgavi in Karnataka, Ranchi, Palamau, Lohardaga, Gumla & Latehar in Jharkhand, Howrah in West Bengal, Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh, Balrampur in Chhattisgarh, Koraput in Odisha, Sigrauli in Madhya Pradesh and Sangareddy in Telengana.
