HDFC Bank which targeting 25% of women employees in the total workforce by 2025 has reported 42 cases of women sexual harassment during the year 2020-21. The total number of employees of HDFC Bank is 1,20,093. The total number of permanent women employees is 21,746 at the bank.

“We have adopted a gender diversity target to increase the representation of women in our workforce to 25% by FY25.”, it said.

POSH cases are evaluated as per calendar year; there were a total of 42 cases registered in the period from January 2020 to December 2020, of which 40 cases have been closed.
An investigation has been completed for the 2 pending cases and an Internal Committee report has been put up for disciplinary authority’s review, the bank said.
Details of the number of complaints received, disposed of, and pending during the year 2020-21 of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace are as under:
- Number of complaints received during the year 2020-21: 47
- Number of complaints disposed of during the year 2020-21: 35
- Number of cases pending as of March 31, 2021: 12
12 cases were registered from January 2021 to March 2021, of which 2 cases have been closed. The pending 10 cases are well within the 90-day timeline of the POSH statute. There is an internal complaints committee at the Bank, to address cases related to sexual harassment at Bank.
The percentage of women employees including frontline staff and sales officers is 18% at the bank.
“We have a ‘Zero Tolerance policy on sexual harassment and an internal complaints committee in place to address complaints related to sexual harassment.”, the bank said.
