DHENKANAL: When crime, atrocities against women, consumption of heavy alcohol, domestic violence are increasing and people have become materialistic and greedy due to the quick changes in recent times, the industry has the responsibility to contribute in reforming the situation with the help of spiritual and social organization.
In order to promote wellbeing in society, a series of sessions on spiritual thoughts were organized by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation with the help a host of spiritual leaders and organizations like ISKON, Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, near the periphery villages of GMR Kamalanga Energy Limited, in Mangalpur Panchayat of Dhenkanal district.
GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, the non-profit Corporate Social Responsibility arm of GMR Group, has been mobilizing villagers to attend the session and listen to the spiritual guidance and to solve their day to day problem.
The foundation organized sessions on spiritual thoughts in Manpur, Mangalpur and Kamalanga villages, which was well accepted by the people. The program organized in three villages in Mangalpur Panchayat and nearly 200 villagers of each village participated in the spiritual sessions.
“In this materialistic world and first changing of life, the spiritual sessions organizes by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation is a praiseworthy initiative. We are leaning many things from these sessions. We hope the Foundation will continue this type of spiritual sessions in coming days,” said Mr. Prashanta Kumar Mohapatra, a resident of Mangalpur Village.
The spiritual leaders shared their thoughts and helped the villagers to find their own answers to life’s most important questions by applying diligently simple and natural spiritual techniques and esoteric knowledge.
GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, Program Leader, Mr. Jayant Kumar Mohanty said “Our objective is to bring a new sense of meaning, hope and peace of mind among the villagers as we feel there was erosion of human value and ideology in today’s society. Besides our foundation activities, we will continue to organize spiritual sessions in other villages of Mangalpur Panchayat in coming days.”
