DHENKANAL: GMR Kamalanga Energy Limited (GKEL) in association with Odisha Red Cross Blood Bank, Dhenkanal, organised a voluntary blood donation camp at its plant site hospital, on February 10, 2017.
In all, 196 units of blood were collected from the one-day camp. A team of doctors & paramedical staff from Red Cross Blood Bank, Dhenkanal, conducted the camp.
Ramesh R Pai, Chief Operating Officer, GKEL inaugurated the camp in the presence of Sandhya Pai, President of Pragati Ladies Club. After donating blood, Pai said, “Blood donation is a noble act. By coming forward to donate blood we fulfill our responsibility as a human. Many lives can be saved and we are not at a loss too as the human body has a regenerating mechanism.”
“I like to thank all the GMR Employees, RAXA Employees, Contract Employees and volunteers of Dhenkanal Red Cross Society who have joined us in this noble cause,” he said.
Enthusiastic participants including employees of GKEL, Raxa Security Services, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation and operating companies participated in the noble cause. Odisha Red Cross Blood Bank, Dhenkanal distributed certificates to the donors and appreciated GKEL employees for organising a successful blood donation camp.
Senior employees of GKEL Arabinda Pani, Head (O&M); Srijit Mishra, Head (HR); Dillip Kumar Kar, Program Leader (CSR); Sushil Kumar Choudhury, Head (Infrastructure); Goutam Upadrasta, Head (Mechanical); Raghunath P, Head (Operation); Raja S, Head, (C&C); Haresh Patnaik, Head (CHP) donated blood.
