AHMEDABAD: Finar Foundation, a CSR foundation of Finar Limited, a leading chemical company, arranged a “Science Fair” in accordance to celebrate National Science Day. The program held at Changodar Pay-center School, Ta. Sanand, Ahmedabad. In which 150 students of 14 Government Primary Schools participated and presented more than 200 models on different subjects.
The honorable guests in the event were M. P. Mehta (District Primary Education Officer,
Ahmedabad), Hariom Gandhi (Zonal Director, Narcotic Control Bureau, Ahmedabad),
Girish Maheshwari (Chairman – Finar Foundation), Amit Maheshwari (M.D., Finar Limited), Narendrasinh Gohil (Presidents, District Primary Education Association), Jagjivanbhai Patel (Vice Presidents, District Primary Education Association) and Rakesh Thakar (BRC, Ta. Sanand).
The purpose of teaching science is to develop scientific thinking and action in students.
Science education should be made more effective and relevant for students so that they can
grasp fundamental concepts, principles and fact of science easily.
With this believe Finar Foundation wanted to encourage the students in rural area to get more practical knowledge on science through program like science fair.
Around 2000 students from 16 schools visited the program and enjoyed the learning
exposure on different subjects such as Robotics, Space, Human body, Electric equipments,
Illusion, Puzzle on Mathematics, Science Toys, Agriculture, Energy Models, Environment
Awareness, Laboratory Equipments, Botany, Models on Physics, Dieses and precautions, etc. There was a section in which students represented models which they had prepared by their own and without any guidance.
Students were shown 3D Movie, Informative Clip (104 Satellite, Space distance etc.), mock drill by fire brigade and working of 108 Ambulance.
