The Movie is developed by the National Film Development Corporation Limited (NFDCL) and is directed by Dr. Jabbar Patel, a great film producer and director. Last year, Rusen Kumar, a resident of Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, who is a leading social icon in the space of Corporate Social Responsibility and online influencer, and the founder of IndiaCSR, a leading web portal, has asked the Government through various RTI requests in this subject in which NFDCL has clearly acknowledged that the movie is based on the life of Dr. Ambedkar, and it has not been broadcasted even once on Doordarshan – India’s Central Government founded public service broadcaster.
Rusen Kumar said, “This movie was made to acknowledge the contributions of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, to propel his life learning and messages, so that Dr. Ambedkar is always remembered for his life time contributions. But it is extremely unfortunate that even after 15 years of the movie being made, the people are deprived from it. It was extremely unfortunate that this movie could not be aired even on Dr. Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary (April 14, 2015)!”
The movie is available in seven India languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati and Oriya, part from English. In spite of availability in multi languages, the movie has been broadcasted twice on two public broadcasters – in Tamil on Doordarshan 5 (Podhigai) and on Rajya Sabha TV on the Constitution Day.
