The Rt. Hon. Lord Loomba of Moor Park, CBE, Founder and Chairman Trustee of The Loomba Foundation, presented an award for “Leadership in Social Responsibility” to Raj Subramaniam, President and Chief Executive Officer of the FedEx Corporation, at a special luncheon and ceremony at the House of Lords, London.
The Loomba Foundation, an international UN accredited NGO dedicated to improving the lives of widows, held the event in recognition of FedEx Corporation’s exceptional and long-term commitment to social responsibility through a wide range of global ESG initiatives. This includes extensive work with non-profit organisations, dedication to programmes championing equality, diversity and inclusivity, and investment into driving change for global communities.
Subramaniam collected his award before an audience of notable guests, extending his gratitude to The Loomba Foundation and all attendees, who included the Rt. Hon. Baroness Verma and the Rt. Hon. Lord Desai, for joining together in their shared dedication to empowering widows and their families worldwide.

Lord Raj Loomba CBE, Founder and Chairman Trustee of The Loomba Foundation, said: “I am delighted to present this well-deserved award to Raj Subramaniam. Having recently been appointed as CEO, he has already shown tremendous and inspirational leadership in driving forward FedEx’s commitment to ESG through a variety of important causes, making it a true exemplar in social responsibility amongst leading global corporations.”
Harjiv Singh, Trustee of The Loomba Foundation and Founder & CEO, Gutenberg, added: “A huge congratulations to Raj Subramaniam and FedEx Corporation on receiving this recognition for his outstanding contributions to social responsibility initiatives. We are incredibly thankful to Raj and FedEx for their leadership in corporate social responsibility.”
This award ceremony follows a significant milestone for The Loomba Foundation, which commemorated its 25th anniversary of advocating for the cause of widows on this year’s International Widows Day on 23 June – a day that was formally recognised by the UN in 2010 following years of campaigning. That evening culminated in the successful fundraising of more than £60,000 in aid of families, including mothers and their children, fleeing war-torn Ukraine to settle in the UK.
