As World Environment Day approaches on June 5, with the theme ‘Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience,’ Piyush Somani, Chairman, CMD & CEO of ESDS Software Solutions Ltd., has shared his insights on the technology sector’s crucial role in driving sustainable development. Somani emphasizes the need for industries to embrace sustainable development, with the technology sector leading the way.
“World Environment Day calls for industries to embrace sustainable development, with the technology sector leading the charge. At ESDS, we are committed to sustainability through a robust ESG framework and patented energy-efficient technologies,” said Somani.
He elaborated on ESDS’s initiatives, highlighting their Vertical Scaling technology, which optimizes server resources and achieves around 30% energy savings. This technology enhances performance and efficiency, significantly reducing electricity consumption and carbon emissions. Additionally, precision measures such as air conditioning systems, power factor panels, and motion sensors have cut energy usage by 20% in their data centers.
Somani also shared ESDS’s ambitious future goals. “By 2027, we aim to connect billions of smart devices, support India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, and plant over a billion trees. Twelve years ago, we began transforming Ramshej from a barren land into a flourishing paradise, now home to thousands of trees and diverse biodiversity. This self-sufficient community forest, free from harmful chemicals, exemplifies our commitment to land restoration and biodiversity conservation.”
He concluded by calling for collective action. “This journey towards sustainability is not one that can be traversed alone. It requires collective action and industry-wide collaboration. As we observe World Environment Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to innovation that fosters ecological sustainability, shaping a resilient future for future generations.”
Piyush Somani’s message underscores the importance of technological innovation in achieving sustainability goals and highlights ESDS Software Solutions Ltd.’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental stewardship.
