BHUBANESWAR: Executive Director & Head of JSPL’s Angul Unit DK Saraogi has been awarded as ‘Best Corporate Leader – 2014’ for his contribution to society and industry in Odisha. He received the Award from Hon’ble Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, in presence of Eminent Artist Padmabibhushan Dr Raghunath Mohapatra, Justivce (Retd) M Papanna, Former CMD of NALCO SK Tamotia and others at Best Corporate Award programme held at Bhubaneswar on December 13, 2014.
Mr Saraogi, who hails from Madhya Pradesh, is leading JSPL’s 6MTPA steel project at Angul. Under his leadership, JSPL has achieved 1.5 MTPA Capacity with World’s First Coal Gasification Plant (CGP) for steel making, biggest Electric Arc Furnace in India as well as widest plate mill of the country. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of JSPL.
Mr Saraogi has completed mechanical Engineering from Govt. Engg College, Jabalpur and joined Jindal Group in Nov 1988. Since then he has consistently headed various Business Units of JSPL including the Jindal Shadeed Plant at Oman. “I express my thanks to people of Odisha, my colleagues and my family members for their support. I will continue to contribute towards development of Odisha through industries and social development initiatives,” said Mr. Saraogi, receiving the award. Recently JSPL, Odisha Units have received several coveted awards such as the Golden Peacock CSR Award, GreenTech Platinum Awards on CSR & HR. Recently In November, Mr. Saraogi was presented with Odisha INC Best CEO Award.
This is the second ‘Best Corporate Award’ programme being organised by Odia Televiewers. This award recognizes various companies and industry leaders for their contribution of business and industry in Odisha. During the programme, various companies were presented with excellence award for their achievements and contribution to their respective industry/sector.
