NEW DELHI (India CSR): The Department of Women and Child Development (Government of NCT of Delhi) and SOS Children’s Villages India have entered into a landmark five-year partnership to jointly implement the Government’s Sponsorship Scheme through SOS India’s Kinship Care Programme, ensuring holistic care and protection for 350 children without parental care across Delhi.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between Smt. Mitali Namchoom, IAS, Director, Department of Women and Child Development, GNCT of Delhi, and Sumanta Kar, CEO, SOS Children’s Villages India, at the Department’s headquarters in New Delhi. Senior officials from both institutions were present on the occasion.
Through this partnership, SOS Children’s Villages India will extend its expertise in family-based care to enhance the quality and impact of the Government’s Sponsorship Scheme. The collaboration aims to strengthen family-based alternative care by empowering caregivers and ensuring every child’s emotional, physical, and educational development, helping them grow into confident, self-reliant individuals.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Mitali Namchoom, IAS, Director, Department of Women and Child Development, (Government of NCT of Delhi), said,“Every child deserves the love, security, and stability of a family.
