BHUBANESWAR: Minister of Forest & Environment, Govt. of Odisha, Vijaya Shree Routray presented the prestigious Prakruti Mitra Award 2013 to DAV Vedanta International School, Lanjigarh on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June, 2013. Principal of the school Shukla Chakrobarty received the award on behalf of the school.
The DAV Vedanta School was selected for various initiatives taken regularly like Plantation Drive, Village Sanitation Programmes in the nearby villages of Lanjigarh, Drive for Safe Drinking Water, Sishu Swasthya Mela to cater health care services for the children in the nearby areas etc. The school if the only English medium school in the locality.
Expressing his pleasure, Chairman of the school management committee of the DAV Vedanta International School Dr. Mukesh Kumar said, “The school has been providing quality education to the tribal children of the Lanjigarh area. We are thankful to the govt. of Odisha for recognising the school for various steps initiated to care environment. This will boost the school management.”
