Pioneering Change
Education in India, especially in rural and underserved areas, often struggles with numerous challenges—lack of infrastructure, untrained educators, high dropout rates, and outdated curricula. Addressing these issues, Wells Fargo India’s philanthropic efforts are making significant strides towards reshaping the educational landscape.
India’s education landscape has progressed, yet gaps in quality education remain, especially in underserved areas where infrastructure and trained teachers are lacking, curricula outdated, and students are dropping out. According to a recent ASER report, 25% of teens between 14 and 18 struggle to read Grade-2 text. Corporates today, along with local communities, NGOs, and government bodies can steer the implementation of holistic educational initiatives tailored to the specific needs of making education accessible to all.
