The COVID – 19 not only global health crisis, it is also a major labor and economic threat. Its impact pushed millions of people into unemployment. If reports are to be believed, reputed organizations in the West have already filed for bankruptcy.

The economic and labor crisis would create new avenues in India. CSR calls for urgent, large scale and coordinated measures addressing three major areas of concern:

  • Protecting employees in the workplace
  • Stimulating the economy
  • Employment – creating jobs and income
  • Recruiting strategies for talent pools

During this crisis, we can’t ignore reliable information, we are wondering what happens next. Pandemic continues to involve damage to the job market. It is essential that we can keep ourselves and our community financially healthy. The need of the hour for the CSR for employees/talent is to survive and cash it like the oxygen.

“When I got enough confidence, the stage was gone”

As a part of a major restructuring program during the COVID-19 pandemic, a move that will result in laying off staff.    Study people who have done what you want them to do. Listen to their stories and get inspired. You are probably surprised at what they have overcome to get this.

If you lost the job all your skills are still intact. You might think that crises tend to bring out the worst in people, but that isn’t reflected in how we view our business leaders, it makes us see them as having higher moral values and as being better role models leading to better organizations outcome. CSR should utilize a work force for optimizing performances for innovations and community development.

So what CSR to do in this time to support employees and unemployed talent how can they be sure that they are giving the hits the mark. Certain groups have disproportionately been affected by the job crisis which created inequality. Employees leaving an organization might be replaced physically, however, their skill – sets and knowledge cannot be exactly replaced.  Skills of employees accounts for 85% of a company’s assets.

During the crisis we have two key tools that can help mitigate the damage and restore public confidence:

  • Social dialogue engaging with employees/unemployed talent and employers and their representatives.
  • Policy- focus on recovery that is equitable and sustainable.

Finding purpose is more important in life, especially as they are out of work out of touch and out of sync with their daily routine with other people. Don’t let them stop from remembering who they are, what they are capable of doing.  CSR can demonstrate for employees supporting their across multiple layers and talents.

As mass lay off occurs some organizations are sharing lists of ex. employees to aid the employment process in their next role.  If you are able to hire right now consider expecting your typical protocols to help them to secure employment more efficiently than ever.   Hiring process to take advantage of the current available talent pool.  Having access to this data is invaluable.  It tells us what gap currently exists across our organization and what areas we should focus on for future development and talent acquisition.

CSR has long been considered a different strategy for many businesses aiding in brand reputation and employers’ sense of purpose and morale. There is no shortage of opportunities available for organizations to use this crisis.

Employees are the company’s greatest asset.  It doesn’t make any difference whether the product is cosmetic or car.  A company is only as good as the people it keeps.

As a business leader you need to create resourceful thinking. Business leaders who stand on integrity and put people first, they lead the work force of the future mandate at a new level. Better role model leaders to better organization outcomes.

CSR engages a multigenerational workforce to realize top talent. It addresses different areas to focus on to future proof yourself and your business.

Discover strategies to:

  • Become the leader your team needs you to be
  • Accelerate talent development
  • Reshape your culture
  • Re-skill your workforce
  • Create an innovative mindset
  • Succeed with purpose.

Measure your team skill so your business can always be ready for the future. Business leaders increase CSR’s effectiveness as a lever for talent management. CSR are investing millions of rupees in their initiates, it has never been more worthwhile to assess the returns in turns to improve connection with employees.

“Failure introduces the world to me”

CSR is an especially strategic initiative.  It now calls for considerably more attention and commitment from business leaders if it is to produce tangible results in terms of improving employee’s attraction, motivation and retention.

CSR will embrace unemployment and continuously hire for talent and become one of the largest sources of employment generation post Covid – 19. It can demonstrate care for employees supporting them across multiple layers of talents. Creating purposeful working environment social impact in the societies.  Empower the team to achieve the target and allow to have its own leader on rotation.
