New Delhi: Tata Power is widening the ambit of women empowerment initiative ‘Dhaaga’ with help of Amazon India. The company has collaborated with Amazon to leverage Dhaaga’s women entrepreneurs’ scale and reach by showcasing and selling their products across the country.
Dhaaga’s products will be showcased as a part of the e-commerce major’s ‘Amazon Saheli’ programme – a dedicated storefront on the website to help display and sell products made by these women listed across different categories on Amazon.
While this collaboration will provide a host of services and support mechanisms to these women to enable better product discovery, it will also expedite and assist them in the onboarding process through a trained resource. Additionally, it will provide support in terms of imaging and cataloguing, product listing, subsidized referral fee and free account management.
Mr Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, said “We are glad to create an ecosystem to provide additional household income for Dhaaga women members. We would like to thank Amazon India for collaborating with us and hope to succeed in expanding such horizons for our women entrepreneurs.”
Tata Power Dhaaga initiative empowers women by helping them develop the right skill-sets required to become financially independent and enhance their socio-economic status. Today Dhaaga members have demonstrated the ability as promising entrepreneurs and delivering their commitment to their customers. Joining hands with Amazon is a right step in this direction to upscale their abilities”, added Shalini Singh, Chief – Corporate Communications & Sustainability, Tata Power.
“Through the program, we offer women entrepreneurs an unparalleled reach to customers, and supports their businesses with world-class logistics and fulfilment facilities” Said Pranav Bhasin, Head – MSME Empowerment & Seller Experience, Amazon India
Implemented in association with Tata Projects Community Development Trust (TPCDT), the company aims to reach out to all potential women entrepreneurs that can be covered under the purview of this partnership. TPCDT will ensure that each of these women entrepreneurs have GST registration and are eligible for selling on Amazon.
