The districts are encouraged to monitor the progress of the blocks that lead to the overall improvement of the district. The Aspirational Districts Programme essentially is aimed at localizing Sustainable Development Goals, leading to the progress of the nation.

In fiscal 2022, Infosys Limited has spent over Rs. 1.98 Crore on various social development works to execute CSR projects in designated aspirational districts as identified by government bodies.
It has covered four aspirational districts this year. However, since 2015 it has in total covered 32 aspirational districts.

REC Limited
CSR: REC Foundation commits Rs.55 cr to transform Health & Education in 6 aspirational districts
REC Foundation has committed a total sum of around Rs. 55 crore towards projects aimed at transforming school education and improving health services in Mamit District of Mizoram, Kiphire District of Nagaland, Muzzafarpur District of Bihar, Udham Singh Nagar District of Uttar Pradesh, Chandel District of Manipur and West Sikkim District.
REC signed a memorandum with Mamit District in Mizoram for transforming school education in government schools and improvement of health services in government health facilities. It committed about Rs 20.63 crore under the initiative. The initiative aimed at bringing out-of-school children back to formal education, improvement of facilities in schools from water filters to biometric attendance trackers. On the healthcare front, the foundation will work with more than 40 facilities to improve their services. It will include mobile vans, life support equipment and medical test facilities apart from ‘telemedicine’ equipment for all 52 government medical facilities.
Aspirational Districts programme
Launched by the Hon’ble PM in January 2018, the Aspirational Districts programme aims to quickly and effectively transform 112 most under-developed districts across the country. The broad contours of the programme are Convergence (of Central & State Schemes), Collaboration (of Central, State level ‘Prabhari’ Officers & District Collectors), and Competition among districts through monthly delta ranking; all driven by a mass movement.
The CSR Law
As per the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, a company meeting the specified criteria shall spend at least 2% of its average net profits for three immediately preceding financial years on CSR activities. The Company has fully spent the required amount towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and there are no unspent CSR amounts for the year requiring a transfer to a Fund specified in Schedule VII to the Companies Act or special account in compliance with the provision of sub-section (6) of Section 135 of the said Act.
