NEW DELHI (India CSR): Smiling Tree has partnered with local schools to integrate the globally recognised Eco-Schools Programme into their environmental education curriculum, empowering students to become active advocates for sustainability and climate action.
As climate risks increasingly affect schools and learning environments, building resilience has never been more important. Through this initiative, Smiling Tree will provide practical guidance, real-world examples, and actionable tools to help schools strengthen climate resilience and improve overall campus safety. Participating institutions will gain access to structured resources and interactive learning modules designed to prepare students and educators to adapt to environmental challenges while creating safer, greener learning spaces.
The Eco-Schools model follows a Seven-Step Framework that guides schools in evaluating their environmental footprint, developing action plans, and implementing solutions across key themes such as biodiversity conservation, waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, and healthy living. The programme also supports broader focus areas including climate change, sustainable rural and urban development, disaster management, water and sanitation, coastal and marine awareness, environmental management, youth education, community service, and communication campaigns.

Dr. Mukesh Kwatra, Founder of Smiling Tree, said, “Environmental education must move beyond theory. By bringing the Eco-Schools framework into classrooms, we are equipping students with practical skills to respond to climate change and environmental challenges. Our goal is to nurture responsible citizens who will lead sustainable transformation in their communities.”
This collaboration reflects Smiling Tree’s ongoing commitment to environmental education and sustainability. With this programme, the organisation aims to reach schools across multiple regions, embedding environmental stewardship into youth learning and inspiring long-term climate resilience at the grassroots level.
