Arogya Van initiative has impacted more than 11 lakh lives from 600+ villages across 10 states

PUNE: Quick Heal, through its CSR initiative, the foundation, donated ‘Arogya Yan’, a state-of-the-art medical van, to the underprivileged and tribal communities of Sirohi, Rajasthan. In association with Vinod Parasrampuriya Sewa Foundation, this van will bring the gift of  good health to more than 3 lakh beneficiaries in Sirohi, Swaroopganj, Nitoda, Rohida, and Bhula, including 7138 families living below the poverty line in the region.

The handing-over ceremony took place in the presence of Anupama Katkar, Chairperson, Quick Heal Foundation and Swaroop Dan, Sangathan Mantri Seva Bharti – Jodhpur Prant. Other dignitaries present on the occasion, Ajay Shirke, Senior Program Manager, Quick Heal Foundation, Shyam Singh, Vibhag Pracharak, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Chief Medical Health Officer, Sirohi.

Due to an acute shortage of staff at the local primary healthcare centers, the residents of Sirohi district face extreme difficulties in gaining access to basic medical care. Low family incomes, along with a lack of awareness and resources, add to the woes of the residents, who largely hail from marginalized tribes. This fully equipped medical van will provide quality healthcare amenities to them at their doorsteps, thus enhancing their overall wellbeing.

Anupama Katkar, Chairperson, Quick Heal Foundation and Chief of Operational Excellence, Quick Heal Technologies Limited, said, “Empowering marginalized communities by enabling healthcare services has been at the core of Quick Heal’s CSR initiatives. Thus, through our foundation, this donation of Arogya Yan for the below poverty line families and tribal population of Sirohi is one step forward in that direction. Having touched the lives of more than 11 lakh people from 600+ villages across 10 states, we are humbled to have this opportunity for making primary medical assistance accessible to these underprivileged communities. Considering the re-spread of COVID19 virus these days, this medical van manned by qualified doctors will certainly help these residents stay safe.”

Arun Parasrampuriya, Chairperson, Vinod Parasrampuriya Sewa Foundation said, “Limited resources, negligible awareness, and remote location, hinder the local residents from gaining access to even the most basic healthcare amenities. We are extremely grateful to Quick Heal and its foundation for enabling us to help reach out to the underprivileged, tribal communities in the district, and help them live a healthy life.”

The medical van will be manned by paramedic staff and doctors who can perform on-spot surgeries. By conducting health and awareness camps in the region, the Arogya Yan initiative will also help the beneficiaries gather information about the various government healthcare schemes.
