In order to ensure that the NGOs and participants would be able to deliver, he informed the audience that IDAN will provide all the necessary tools and procedures, from project design and DPR preparation to CSR donor negotiations and project implementation and monitoring. He also promised that IDAN will help and ensure that a CSR staff is always on hand to support the NGOs and answer any of their questions.
Emphasis of capacity-building of NGOs and CSR
Chichanbeni Kithan, CSR Manager of IDAN, stated that the NGOs and CSR are the main emphasis of this capacity-building programme. She asserted that NGOs are essential in addressing and advancing social welfare, environmental issues, and sustainable development.
The fact that NGOs are frequently constrained by resource restrictions severely limits their ability to achieve their objectives, despite the fact that they have a wealth of knowledge and expertise that can assist businesses in understanding the local context and identifying the most urgent needs. As a result, she continued, they need resources and collaborations with other stakeholders in order to properly carry out the tasks. This is where CSR comes in.
CSR – Significant idea in the business world
She said that CSR has become a more significant idea in the business world in recent years. Beyond only its financial performance, it refers to a company’s dedication to conducting business in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. Businesses and organisations can assist the work of NGOs by contributing financial, technical, and other resources through CSR efforts.
Two-day conference
The two-day conference, she continued, is primarily intended to advance knowledge and expertise in the field of corporate social responsibility and provide non-profit organisations with the resources and know-how they need to address the crucial question of how they can forge successful alliances with businesses and other stakeholders. Reny Wilfred IAS, Joint Secretary IDAN, was the special visitor who earlier virtually launched the new capacity building facility.
