KOCHI, KERALA (India CSR): In a remarkable step towards promoting education, Muthoot Finance Ltd has announced scholarships worth INR 1 crore for talented 8th and 9th-grade students across 788 districts in India for the upcoming financial year (FY26). This initiative, part of the company’s enduring commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), was unveiled during the 15th anniversary celebrations of the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards.
Over the years, this initiative has benefited 10,000 students nationwide, reinforcing Muthoot Finance’s dedication to nurturing academic potential and supporting young scholars from diverse backgrounds.
15 Years of Supporting Education and Academic Excellence
Since its launch in 2010, the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards have been instrumental in empowering academically talented students from economically weaker sections. As part of this pan-India effort, the Muthoot M George Foundation has disbursed over INR 3 crore in scholarships, providing crucial financial aid to students who demonstrate exceptional academic promise.
This year alone, the initiative awarded INR 43 lakh in scholarships to more than 1,400 students, further solidifying Muthoot Finance’s role as a socially responsible organization.
A Grand Celebration of Educational Achievements
The Excellence Awards Distribution Ceremony was held on February 4, 2025, at The Muthoot Group Head Office, Ernakulam. The event saw participation from prominent dignitaries:
- Smt. R. Bindu, Minister for Higher Education & Social Justice, Kerala (Chief Guest)
- Shri K.N. Unnikrishnan, Member of Kerala Legislative Assembly, Vypin (Guest of Honour)
