Lupin Human Welfare & Research Foundation, popularly known as Lupin Foundation has released its report for the year 2018-19. The report is titled Realising Aspirations of Rural India: Three Decades of Dedicated Services.
Lupin Limited, the global pharmaceutical company, as collectively spent Rs. 112.5 Crore in various corporate social responsibility projects and activities during the last five years, company informed in its annual report.
Company has spent around Rs. 38 crore on CSR during the year 2018-19 which is highest ever in last five years.
During the year foundation benefited more than 6 lakh people through its various interventions in the area of agriculture, natural resource management, animal husbandry, self-employment, women empowerment, infrastructure development, health and educational programmes. It has upgraded the lives of more than 70,000 families.
Lupin Foundation social development programs are being implemented in 20 geographical locations.
“In the year 2081-19, we took a great stride ahead by associating with NITI Aayog to provide for facilitating change in three districts under Aspirational District Programme (ADP) viz. Nandurbar in Maharstra, Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh and Dholpur in Rajasthan. We already had a presence in these districts.”, Sita Ram Gupta, Executive Director, Lupin Foundation informed India CSR.
Lupin Foundation is implementing arm of CSR operations of Lupin Ltd.
Foundation has partnered with NABARD to broaden the presence and improve the impact.
“No corporate foundation can single handily affect the change the required addressing issues that plague the rural India. A partnership and convergence are the only strategies going ahead too.”, he said.
“In future, we want to build bridge with the other CSR foundations and forge synergetic partnership to achieve high impact.”
Currently, foundation is working in Bharatpur, Alwar, Sindhudurg, Pune, Tarapur, Aurangabad, Nandurbar, Dhule, Nagpur, Ankleshwar, Dabhasa, Dhar, Mandideep, Jammu, Pernem (Goa), Vizag, Rishikesh, Sikkim, Vidisha and Dholpur.
“Currentyly, Lupin Foundation reaches about two and eight million people living in about 4546 villages located in 63 blocks of 23 districts spread across the nine states.”, report said.
