UDAIPUR (India CSR): In a major boost to women’s financial independence, Hindustan Zinc’s Sakhi Project, a major CSR programme, facilitated a loan distribution of Rs. 6 million through Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank (RMGB). Organized in Zawar, Udaipur, the event marked a significant step toward empowering rural and tribal women through financial inclusion and livelihood support.
Over 225 women associated with the Sakhi Shakti Federation, Zawar, received small loans to enhance their self-sustaining livelihood activities.
Supporting Women’s Financial Independence
Held at the Zawar Mines Community Center, the event focused on fostering financial freedom for rural women. Present were RMGB Udaipur Regional Manager Kamlesh Kumar Gupta and Branch Manager Roshan Lal, who praised the discipline and determination of the women involved.
The bank representatives pledged continued support for self-reliant livelihood initiatives by facilitating access to credit and banking services. Representatives from Girwa Block, local police officials, and village leaders also attended, showing strong community backing for the initiative.

By linking women with banks and financial institutions, the project has enabled thousands of women around Zawar Mines to access microloans, boosting their social and economic stability.

Run in collaboration with the Manjari Foundation, Hindustan Zinc’s Sakhi Project focuses on empowering rural and tribal women in Rajasthan. By enhancing access to credit, training, and resources, the initiative supports sustainable livelihood activities, laying a foundation for economic resilience among women in these communities.
