AHMEDABAD: Essar Power Hazira Ltd (EPHL) had recently organized a vaccination drive for over 300 employees and the contract associates, in association with Sunshine Global Hospital Surat which had sent a medical team to ensure smooth administration of the doses and help in resuming normalcy in life with adequate protection against the C-19 pandemic. Overall, Essar has vaccinated over 2,000 employees across its companies and business locations.
“As power generation and transmission is an essential service, Essar Power has a greater responsibility towards its service to the nation. Essarites continue serving the Nation from our operational sites, and they do so despite the challenges and risk they face due to the pandemic. Hence employee health & safety is even more critical for us in current times. Apart from stringent COVID-19 protocols, we have been conducting aggressive vaccination drives at operations sites to protect Essarites from the virus,” said Kush. S, CEO, Essar Power Ltd.
“This was a proactive step taken by EPHL HR Admin team who facilitated the entire mammoth vaccination drive from cracking the best deal and proactively making all the arrangements,” he added. The drive was inaugurated by the company’s CEO Nishith Dayal and the HODs of the EPHL plant along with the Sunshine Global Team.
24×7 Emergency vehicle & ambulance was made available for the vaccination to handle any kind of emergencies. There was a selfie corner for everyone where the families clicked pictures after getting vaccinated.
A few weeks ago, Essar Power Gujarat Ltd had organised a vaccination drive at its Salaya power plant, where it had administered vaccine to 250 employees.
Essar Bulk Terminal (Salaya) Ltd has also administered the vaccine to over 300 employees and staff working at the port. The drive constituted 3 vaccination camps across the month of April 2021 at the EBTSL premises, for employees & contractual staff (including flotilla staff, drivers, etc.). EBTSL also coordinated and arranged for the vaccines of its Jamnagar employees at government vaccination centres.
Separately, earlier this month, more than 400 employees and their family members were vaccinated in Essar’s corporate headquarters in Mumbai.
