The 100-day program, which is being held at a skill training center set up on the company’s premises in Srikalahasthi, teaches participants tailoring and fashion design skills. The program was interrupted by the pandemic, but recently resumed with the help of new sewing machines.
The program has seen an overwhelming response from women in the surrounding villages, with many expressing an interest in participating in future sessions and learning how to sew men’s garments and children’s uniforms to supplement their income.
The program aims to empower and build the confidence of its participants, who can now earn approximately Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 18,000 per month from stitching garments. A few successful candidates from the first batch will even be provided with sewing machines to help them become self-sufficient.
