FARIDABAD (India CSR): On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation at Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and education through its Raddi Recycling Initiative. The initiative has successfully repurposed 55,000 kilograms of wastepaper and cardboard into notebooks for children studying in government schools and NGOs.
Since its launch in 2022, the Raddi Recycling Initiative has been steadily turning paper waste into a powerful tool for change, recycling discarded materials into notebooks for students who need them most. Wastepaper collected across the Manav Rachna campus is recycled into notebooks, which are distributed to schools such as Govt. Senior Secondary School in Lakkarpur, Ankhir, Bhankri, and NGOs like the Loria Pragatisheel Research and Development Foundation.
To date, more than 25,000 notebooks have been created, with 15,000 already reaching students, reflecting the Foundation’s dual focus on environmental stewardship and educational access.
Dr. Vaishali Mathur, Senior Program Manager at the Foundation, shared, “This initiative reflects our drive to link sustainability with education. By turning wastepaper into useful learning material, we are setting an example of how even small actions can make a difference.”

Bhalla Foundation, said, “Behind every recycled notebook is the effort of students, staff, and volunteers who believe in creating impact through collective action.
