New Delhi: The NASSCOM Foundation has launched its Aspirational Districts Programme with the goal of digitally enabling and providing skills to over 3.5 million people by March 2024. The programme will focus on providing digital resource centers, training digital ambassadors, and providing e-governance tools to marginalized communities in remote and underdeveloped areas of India.
The programme directly aligns with the NASSCOM Foundation’s core philosophy of TechForGood, which aims to use technology to create positive social impact. The programme will also prioritize economic development in alignment with India’s Digital India mission.
The NASSCOM Foundation’s Aspirational Districts Programme aims to improve the digital skills and knowledge of marginalized communities in remote and underdeveloped areas of India. The programme will focus on providing digital resource centers, training digital ambassadors, and providing e-governance tools to these communities.
The digital resource centers will act as change agents and engines of development, providing need-based information, resources, and government-based services that will improve the lives and livelihoods of community members. The programme will also train community members to be digital ambassadors and make e-governance tools available to communities at large.
Through this programme, the NASSCOM Foundation hopes to empower the youth to nurture their talents and focus on aspiring women entrepreneurs to improve the quality of life at both the community and society level. Another key focus area of the programme is to generate awareness of appropriate government schemes and e-governance services, as well as provide quality training in digital skills.
The programme directly aligns with the NASSCOM Foundation’s philosophy of TechForGood, which aims to use technology to create positive social impact. By leveraging technology and digital knowledge, the Aspirational Districts Programme hopes to transform 55 districts and empower over 3.5 million people, making technology affordable, equitable, and accessible to all.
