Coronavirus Prevention: 4 Travel Tips to Stay Safe

Punekars, you’ve probably noticed that in the last few months, with the global spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), travelling has become somewhat challenging. For those of you who do not have your own vehicle, travelling through public transport maybe even more concerning.

What is Corona?

Corona refers to a virus that causes human respiratory diseases that range from light cold to pneumonia. The infection spreads primarily through respiratory vapour and gets transmitted from person to person while coughing or sneezing. The virus can also enter a human body by coming in contact with contaminated surfaces.

It is because of this reason that everyone is advised to remain close to home, to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. Maybe a conference that you were supposed to hold outside of Pune was cancelled. Or your place of employment has suggested all the employees to work from home. These measures are being taken to keep people away from social contact while travelling. There are, however, errands to perform, or business tours within India that cannot be cancelled.

So, if you do need to travel, how can you keep yourself safe from the Coronavirus?

Prevention tips such as using a sanitizer, staying away from people with cold and cough or opting for a car on rent in Pune without a driver are some of the best ways of staying safe against Coronavirus.

Here are a few tips to stay secure when you’re out and about, whether that’s in your town or away from home:

Avoid Using Public Transportation

According to domestic travel advisory in India, it is suggested that everybody should avoid crowds and maintain a distance of at least 2 meters from others. But that is not possible when you use public transportation in the city to go to work or come back home.

For example, on your morning commute, if you see someone coughing or sneeze, and you’re at a distance of 6feet from them, the chance of getting infected lowers down. However, that does not prevent you from coronavirus completely. Hence, you need to avoid using public transportation in Pune at all costs. You can either use your vehicle or choose a car on rent in Pune without driver to be safe.

Limit Contact with Different Surfaces

Objects that are most likely to host the virus in a public transportation environment include the handles, doors or the bars you grab on to for support on the train or bus in addition to anything else that another person might have touched. Hence, wash your hands immediately after leaving any public transport and make sure that after touching any surface, you do not bring your hands close to your nose, eyes and ears. Also, if you use a cloth for touching the surfaces, dispose it in a sealed garbage bin after that.

Consider Car on Rent Without Driver

Avoiding public transit doesn’t mean you should be taking a taxi. It is because an anonymous driver is assigned to pick you up from your destination when you book a cab. It’s challenging to keep track if all drivers practice good hygiene on a regular basis and you don’t know whether they have been screened for any symptoms of Coronavirus. Every one of these drivers come in contact with many other passengers, some even exchange currency and that makes both of them as well as the vehicle vulnerable to carrying an infection.

However, a much better alternative is to avail the services of a car on rent in Pune without driver from a reliable company like Zoomcar, which ensures that all their vehicles, be it a hatchback, sedan or SUV, are adequately sanitized and disinfected after every trip. You can choose a car on lease in Pune to prevent exposure to any contagious infections when it is crucial for you to travel somewhere during this outbreak. A self-driven or chauffeur-driven rented car is the perfect solution for a private and comfortable ride.

Clean Your Hands As Soon As Possible After Your Trip

You should wash your hands as quickly as possible after getting down from a bus or train. A quick use of a medical hand sanitizer with high alcohol content can help keep you safe against the virus. Even more crucial is thorough hand-washing—20 seconds with soap and water. Along with that, avoid touching your face with hands to keep any germs you might have picked up from getting into your system. When travelling in your vehicle or a car on rent in Pune without a driver, check the sanitization of the vehicle beforehand.

Travel in a Safe and Secure Way

It is common to panic in times of stress. However, it is crucial to practice precaution in the case of this Coronavirus outbreak to stay safe. The travel tips above will keep you secure while you go along with your day-to-day job. Nonetheless, it is advisable to not travel outside your home, if not essential. If you need to run an errand or you have to undertake domestic travel in India, then either choose to travel in your own vehicle or book a car on rent in Pune without driver for a safe commute.
