New Delhi – Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR), spent an amount of Rs 13.39 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in FY2018-19 against the total CSR budget of Rs 36.88 crores, which includes carry forward unspent amount of Rs.11.00 crores from previous year, the annual report of the company says.
The company spent Rs 24.45 crores in FY2016-17 and Rs 15.75 crores in FY2017-18 which has been utilised on various social activities undertaken including infrastructure and community development activities under CONCOR’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The company achieved a gross turnover and net profit of Rs.7,216 crores and Rs.1,215 crores respectively during the year.
The CSR initiatives taken by the company in the various fields includes education, health, sanitation, environment, sustainability and skill development.
Through the CSR programmes, the company has touched and positively impacted the lives of many underprivileged people.
CONCOR’s social activities in FY 2018-19 were continued to be focussed on development of society with prime focus on school education and health in terms of guidelines issued by Department of Public enterprises (DPE).
Infrastructure Development of schools found a major place in CONCOR’s CSR activities covering Shravasti in Uttar Pradesh, Purnia in Bihar, Gauatambudh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh and Kannur in Kerala.
The CSR Committee comprises of V. Kalyana Rama as Chairman & Managing Director, Pradip K. Agrawal as Director (Domestic Division), Kamlesh Shivji Vikamsey as Independent Director and Lov Verma as Independent Director.
